Hello Friends of the Hogar San José,

What a year! COVID 19 is still strong in Argentina, but we have learnt how to live with it. Many changes have happened though.

Our girls ended up the year with only one week in March of going to school. The rest of the year was online, through workbooks, email or whatever we could get our hands on. Lets hope that when classes start again in March 2021, we can go back, because many people in Argentina have very poor connectivity, and we are amongst this group.

We took advantage of the extra time to focus on job training and gaining real work experience. As mentioned in the previous report, the people from PURATOS, the belgian company that sells products and trains bakers, continued being wonderful. The girls 15 years and older managed to gain their certificate of completion of the training course. We started the sales of our «Alfajores and Budines» and we aleady have a fan club and many loyal customers. We have also arranged with two shops that they will sell our products.

A group of volunteers decorated the house for the Christmas celebration. We all had a wonderful time.

And we organized a raffle to be able to fix the swimming pool. Since the girls do not go anywhere during the long summer, it is nice that they can swim in the pool.

Thank you to all of you that have supported us this difficult year! We wish you all the best for 2021!
